Thanks Crossfit

My bro Terrel getting in some pullups on moving day. This past weekend I went home to Lubbock to help my parents move into their new home. I realized how useful Crossfit movements are in the real world. I used the front squat, deadlift, overhead press, overhead squat, and thruster all to my advantage while moving. I also got to teach my Grammy how to properly deadlift all of her extremely overstuffed boxes!!It is times like this when I look at my job and find a whole new respect for it!

The Big, The Bad, and The Ugly

So today Sara, a PT client and dear freind, came into the gym ready to kick some ass. She had a new determination about her and I was pumped. You see, Sara is kind of a baby when it comes to caluses and tears on her hands. So normally she does jump pullups off a box in lower reps. Today we used a band and she rocked out about 50 on her own. Her very last set she didn't let go of the bar until she was done....and the result was rips! She freaked out for a few minutes, but then realized how exciting it was to get the pullups and soon got over it. This was a huge acheivment in my book, way to go Sar Bear!!!!!!!!!

Weighted Pullups

3 wieghted pullups
5 strict pullups
7 kipping pullups

When a workout like todays comes up on the main site I shake my head. I mean shit, I can hardly lift my own body weight over the bar, much less with added weight......... Not! I can do anything. It might take me a bit longer than I would like, but I can freakin do it! Qualifiers are coming up, time to buck up!

Pullup Mania

Whitney, Megan, and Julie have all three been working diligently over the past few weeks to conquer the pullup. They have all had great success. Everyday I walk into the gym I see new people getting their pullups down and it Pumps
Me Up! I know alot of our clients are working hard to tryout for the affiliate team, and those that aren't are just working hard to accomplish their goals. Whatever the reason may be, you guys are super inspiring and motivate me as a coach to be at the top of my game!
